10 days until Stella's first Christmas!

Today we braved Yorkdale mall today and I've realized I've lost my love of shopping! I didn't look at a single thing for me and only went in 4 stores, 2 of which were just children's clothes! One reason is that It's pretty difficult to manuver a stroller through clothes racks, but also all I wear anymore are tshirts and jeans. And of course, I'm not completely ready to invest in clothes as I'm hoping to lose some more weight. If only I could get out for a run... but a little SOMEONE seems to be getting in the way of that. As of tomorrow though my gym membership is reactivated and they have child minding so I'll be able to get back to the gym. I'm also going to get back to ballet starting in January.

Speaking of which, I can't wait until Stella Bella can start her little ballet lessons!

Baby bean sprout

This baby is growing like a weed! Today at the doctors, eventhough the appointment was for me, I asked if they could weigh Stella. She's up to 3.84kg. She doesn't look any chubbier, but she's definitely getting longer. Her pajamas are getting too short!

Today was also our first day of cloth diapering which is quite challenging. I've only got 12 prefolds right now which are a bit bulky on her. There's another system out there as well called "Flip" which seems to be a trimmer fit. So we might pick up some of those to try as well.

Finally my victory for the day... I've managed to get Stella down for bedtime all by myself! Jeff is at his infant first aid class so I'm home alone tonight.

Stella is super excited to breakfast with her Nanna and Poppy tomorrow morning.

How quickly time goes...

How time goes by quickly. It seems so little time ago I was waiting not so patiently for the bump to appear. Now my little baby is more than a month old and I'm waiting (not so patiently) for those first little smiles and coos!
She is more beautiful and incredible than I ever imagined.

The Mighty Kicker

Baby Lewis gets tougher everyday. Last week Jeff felt Boom kicking on the outside after many weeks of trying. It was a bit random, he just happened to put his hand on the belly and WHAM! Then BAM right away again. Today the Boom has been kicking non-stop. I'm not sure if he agrees with the days activities (swimming, latte, reading, sitting on my butt, fish and lentils) or if he's showing his pleasure. Here are some videos of the little one! FYI the kick happens at 11 seconds in....
And just a little hello....

Growth

Baby Boom Lewis had a great week at camp, hopefully the first of many. I'm determined to raise a summer camper.

Todays Stats:
Abdo girth - 42 inches (that's mine)
Length - approximately 8 inches
Weight - approx a pound (Boom's, not mine).

Boom seems to like the song "this little light of mine". there's a commercial on tv that has that song and when I sing a long when Boom's kicking too much he always quiets down.

In August we're hoping to pick out some furniture for the baby's room and some linens at Target while we're in the states.

Nicknames!

So at 20 weeks and 3 days there's a new nickname to add to the "bunch". We're continuing to keep our original duedate of November 20 even though the latest ultrasound says Novemhber 17th. This week the baby is growing to 7 inches, roughly the size of a banana. Many of the nicknames that have popped up have started with B; Baby Beachball (cause that's what I feel like!), Baby Boom (as Dad has called him due to the fact that would make an amazing middle name, and it's also what a kick feels like!), Baby Burden (Jeff's not always funny joke). So this week it's Baby Banana.

There's also the nickname that has stuck with Erin and Brad... Baby Huey. Get it? Huey Lewis? meh.

18 Weeks and 5 Days

We are one week and 2 days away from the halfway point. While we're busy trying to find a place to live for the month in between homes, the baby is busy growing and growing! He/She/It is as big as a mango as per "what to expect when you're expecting". A long way from our little blueberry we started out with. The BB is also making his presence known, definitely a night owl, always starts kicking around bed time. Jeff is excited to feel the kicks on the outside!
